Growing up, I was an escape artist, losing myself in books and building worlds before I knew what screenwriting was. A creative writing professor introduced me to the craft and I’ve been obsessed with the medium ever since.

With a do-or-die attitude and a hundred bucks in the wallet, I took a Greyhound cross-country to pursue that dream of becoming a professional writer. In LA, I hit the ground running, odd-jobbing my way into rooms, punching up scripts for indie producers, and learning the hustle from some of the best in the business. Set up my first screenplay with an animation studio, an Emmy-winning director, and a well-known distributor.

Then I moved halfway around the world. On a little middle of nowhere Norwegian farm, I continued to pound out pages, fusing military background as a strategic weapons tech into action screenwriting. Started to sell those specs to larger companies and snagged assignments with veteran studio-level producers. Distance couldn’t stop my momentum, but my health did.

In 2016, while my first produced feature was premiering, I was a few doors down, too exhausted to attend. An unknown neurological disorder began to steal my soul. Parkinson’s Disease at 36.

While staying sharp with coverage and notes, I spent a decade away from screenwriting to learn how to live with a challenging disease instead of fighting it. Now I’m writing again. Harder and faster than before.
